I have always hated how yellow my teeth were, and have been searching for a whitening product that actually works since I was in my teens. I tried toothpastes and whitening strips, and I even tried activated charcoal (which turns out is actually abrasive and not that great for your enamel!) !! None of them gave me my desired results, some just made my teeth super sensitive, a few worked a little, but not to the level I was hoping for.
Enter Smile Brilliant!
When they approached my to try out their whitening system I jumped at the chance! Custom fitted trays? Fun little syringes full of the whitening solution? Sounds like fun, and sounds like a product that would actually maybe work !
The first box arrived in the mail, in it was the tooth impression molds and the impression materials, as well as all the syringes of whitening solution and desensitizing solution (I had opted for the sensitive teeth kit as I have had some issues with tooth sensitivity in the past). I then got to play dentist and take my own impressions, which was super easy, and the kid in me loved doing it!
Once the molds were done, I mailed them off to the lab, and in about 2 -3 weeks (because I live in Canada, the turn around time would have been even faster if I was in the USA) I had my custom fitted trays and everything I needed for whitening!
It has worked so well, the only downside I can see is the amount of time it takes. You wear the trays for anywhere from 45min-3hrs every evening, and then use the desensitizing solution for about 20min. So, if you’re like me and like to have a bedtime snack, you might have to give that up for a couple weeks, which is a small price to pay for finally getting white teeth at a fraction of the cost of going to a dentist!
How it fit into my daily life
I would generally wait until I’d put the kids to bed, then go put on my trays and sit down and watch a movie with my hubby, or go read a book, or have a bath. Basically I just went about my normal evening routine! A few times I would put them on before having a shower in the morning, and wear them until I was done getting ready for the day (though it is recommended to do it before bed if possible to minimize the risk of re-staining). It was so nice to not have to worry about them falling off/sliding around, plus I could talk just fine with them on !
Some of the things I loved about Smile Brilliant
-The trays are custom fitted, so they give you complete coverage
-It’s safe for both enamel and gums
-People with sensitive teeth can use it
-You get permanent results, as it lifts deep stains as opposed to just getting rid of surface stains temporarily
The very few cons
-It is more expensive than other whitening kits, but still very affordable!
-You can’t eat or drink for a few hours, but you can pretty much do anything else
-I did have a bit of gum rubbing, but that was solved with a quick email to them (did I mention they have fantastic customer service?! Any questions I had were quickly answered and they gave me a ton of helpful tips to make the process as easy as possible!)
In conclusion
I would absolutely recommend Smile Brilliant. I got immediate results, the process was simple and straightforward, and their customer service is fantastic. I feel so much more confident about my smile, I no longer feel embarrassed about my yellow teeth, and I am just super happy that I found a solution that actually works!
